When going to an event of any kind I’m sure the first thing on your list to bring will always be business cards. This is the obvious one, but what else should you bring? Maybe some current marketing material or maybe some kind of free item to give away, but is that all?

There are a number of options open to you to bring to these things to be certain that you make the best impression possible. Some of it has less to do with how you interact with others and just matters of convenience for yourself. Do you have enough pens or notepads with you to write down information? When it comes to the material you’re handing out to others, did you get presentation folder printing done in order to have a better package for your handouts?

What about the booth you’re in? Are you getting posters made to put up behind your booth? Do you have emergency contacts set up in the city should you need to quickly get printing done or have other things made on the spur of the moment in case you forgot something?

There are a lot of different things to keep track of, and the best way to be certain you catch it all is by making a checklist before you even leave. However, a checklist is only going to work if you know what to put on the checklist, and that can become the problem.

The first way to boost up your checklist is by asking others who have been through something similar before. See what wisdom they have for you to keep track of, and make sure to write down everything they say. But you’re still kind of limited if you don’t have a lot of experience, so what other options are open to you?

Experience stands as the best way of improving your performance, but even then it can only help you if you know how to make it work best for you.

Each time you go to something pay careful attention to what everyone is doing. Watch the marketing material they bring along with how they present themselves. If you see someone doing something you’ve never seen before that you like than write it down and add it to your own checklist to do yourself.

Eventually after enough events you’ll develop a strong checklist covering every detail possible. Be sure as well to pass along this checklist to other new people who might not think to get pocket folder printing done or to be sure they have a backup plan.

Now you’re improving the performance of everyone in your company, and making sure you always have a strong showing no matter where you go, and no matter who is going there.
