Tips on saving time when in business

Many of you who want to start a business from home or already doing it can easily see the advantages, such as: spend more time with the kids, avoid traffic, get the freedom to decide about your strategy and of course become your own boss.

Well many home businesses in my country Australia are booming and replacing a slow to react corporations. In the present online communication is actually does not matter where you are as long as you doing your job.

Online Malls like eBay and thousands of successful E-COM give beautiful opportunity to us individual where ever we are.

The down side however is that for every success story there is a few failure stories, and the number one reason for every success story is time management.

When I first thought about my business: wholesaleclothing I learn that wasting my time reading junk mail or sport could be my worst enemy. I already had my Biz plan, my strategy targets, a great idea, and lots of time. so where do I start in my day to day routine?

A long term and short term plan is a must, and to reach your target you would need to break down your term target into daily routine.

Tip no 1 – get your self a diary and schedule the days of the weeks into tasks. Don’t forget to allow time for the less likable task such as back up your work, attend angry customers, or in my case clean your desk.

Your diary should look like:
9:00 - 9:30: read Emails
9:30 - 11:30: outgoing phone (sales, costumier care, service calls, follow up calls).
12:00 – 15:30: promoting your business
15:30 – 16:45 return to incoming phone calls.
16:45 – 17:00 clean your desk….
etc…

Tip no 2 – Frame your ongoing weekly task above your desk.

Because you are at home the borders between your work time and home time are blare, to put a stop for working long hours at night and spend valued morning time on home task you can use couple of tips.

* Hire a calling center to answer your business calls 24/7. and return to this calls in the space you dedicate for that task in your diary.
* Turn off your mobile phone and return to the missed calls in the space for outgoing phone calls in your diary.
* Don’t answer the home phone while working hours!
* Hang “please don’t disturb” sign on your home office door and explain your family the importance of your time.
* While working don’t do house works, while not working don’t go near your office!

Do remember the fact that you are working from home can allow your self the flexibility to control your time, if you want to spend more time with your kids, you can easily set your diary to couple of break spaces.

7:00–12:30 working time.
12:30–20:00 family time.
20:00–22:30 working time.

Or any other combination that allow your self the time that you need to promote your business and enjoy the best quality of life you wish for yourself.
